The executive committee receives instructions before starting their day of service at St. Vincent de Paul, Madison, Wisc.

Recently, Food Warming Equipment Company’s President, Deron Lichte, and his fellow NAFEM executives took time out of their day to travel to Madison, Wisconsin. While there they went to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry to volunteer with the staff there.

“NAFEM is an association of 550+ foodservice equipment & supplies manufacturers providing products for food preparation, cooking, storage & table service.”

The St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry is an organization that helps disenfranchised families in a certain area with food costs.  Here is how the Madison pantry operates:

“We run one of the largest, busiest food pantries in Dane County. Our St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry operates on a customer-choice basis. Using “points” based on your household size, you can shop our pantry like a grocery store for the food you and your family prefer and will eat.”

After getting into some cheesy situations at the food pantry. Deron Lichte along with the other executives met with the Governor of Wisconsin, Scott Walker, to discuss the importance of the manufacturing industry to the American economy.

FWE is proud to have a President that is not afraid to roll up his sleeves and help his fellow men and women in need.

NAFEM Helps Make Energy Star Audits More Efficient

To make products better, faster, and customer affordable Food Warming Equipment Co. needs to make units at a high level of efficiency. Part of this efficiency is the Energy Star rating that FWE is proud to have adorned on their products. Energy Star is a program that manufacturers volunteer to enter that helps both companies and individuals save money through efficient energy. The benefit is two-fold, first is the cost savings on your energy bill and second is environmental protection from the same energy efficiency.

NAFEM has been discussing with the Environmental Protection Agency to aid the U.S. Government in making the Energy Star audits even more efficient by conducting audits through a third-party. This process was first only approved on steam cookers. In 2018, the Department of Energy is beginning to look into expanding the program to other food service equipment. Government funding prevents the DOE to implement this change. Fortunately, NAFEM is working to expand the program.  Read about it on NAFEM’s website:

FWE boasts a large array of products with the Energy Star rating. Visit our webpage at Here, you can view our most popular models with the Energy Star rating. Discover the Energy Star rebate and see if you qualify! On our page, we invite you to look at our FAQ and learn about the Energy Star rating.

What do these changes to the process mean for the FWE consumer? It means that the consumer gets the product better, faster, and affordable.

This post-punk alternative band formed in Las Vegas, NV back in 2001 by members Brandon Flowers and Dave Keuning who originally found each other through a newspaper advert. Since their inception, The Killers have had massive success and headlined venues such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, the Hollywood Bowl and Wembley Stadium.

Their list of awards and accomplishments are extensive. With an MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist under their belt, they were also nominated for three Grammies. Songs from their debut album Hot Fuss have garnered several platinum hits including; “Mr. Brightside“, “Somebody Told Me” and “All These Things That I’ve Done.”

With a sound, that is not easily defined, their music incorporates inspirations of pop theatricality along with an intense retrospective.  Since their onset in the early 2000’s they share the same inspirations of bands such as; She Wants Revenge, Franz Ferdinand, Modest Mouse (and others of the early to mid noughties) that borrow inspirations from the likes of Oasis, The Smiths and artists such as David Bowie.

From hundreds of entries, the names of eleven lucky winners were drawn.  They represented many different facets of the foodservice industry including schools & universities, restaurants, hospitals, design & consulting firms.  Congratulations to the winners!

As seen in the FER Fornightly Online Newsletter Special Products edition featuring equipment that will be exhibited at NAFEM, learn about the FWE NSF Certification of Portable Bars, Clymate IQ Holding Cabinet & the Air Supremacy Airscreen Refrigerator.

A half-century of manufacturing tough, durable Portable Bars means FWE has the expertise to make the very best: they’re rugged, durable, cost-efficient and now they’re NSF-certified for safety.

The new Clymate IQ Heated Holding Cabinet keeps food at optimum serving temperatures through peak serving periods. The Clymate IQ reaches set heat and humidity levels in just 30 minutes, twice as fast as other cabinets. Portable cabinet is easy to use and perfect for short-term staging and extended holding times, eliminating hot spots and cold spots with minimal operator involvement.

FWE’s ASU-9 Air Supremacy Air Screen Refrigerator operates with its door open for up to 3 hours while maintaining a temperature below 41ºF. That’s three times longer than its closest competitor in air screen refrigeration. This extended open door feature makes the ASU-9 perfect for mass feeding in healthcare and other demanding applications where speed and food safety are important.
