At Food Warming Equipment we understand the needs of the greater community around us. That is why we have partnered with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive for FWE employees. Founded by a nurse who worked during the American Civil War the American Red Cross official began operations in the early 1880s. For over 135 years the American Red Cross has been saving lives not only at home but abroad. Nearly 40% of all the blood donated in the United States comes from the American Red Cross.

Blood donation is but a small part of ARC’s humanitarian activities including First Aid, CPR, Water Safety, Scientific Research, Cellular Therapy, and many more. But the ARC is most notably known for its Disaster Relief programs during Hurricane Katrina, the 2010 Haitian Earthquake, and others.

Hosting the blood drive was an easy set up all any host needs to do are three simple steps outlined on the redcrossblood.org website. The host needs to offer a suitable location for donating. They need to help recruit donors within the organization. It is the responsibility of the host to schedule the donors for the appointment slot. The ARC does the rest.

FWE was proud to host a blood drive for company employees on January 31, 2018. Many employees including company Vice President, Christopher Huffman (shown left) were present to donate. For every person that donates blood can have the potential to save the lives of up to three people for eight to ten minutes out of a day FWE thinks that it is worth every second.

FWE – Tennessee is now up, running and Fully Operational, kicking out quality Foodservice Equipment, as it has been for 60 years now.

 

 

 

With the 60 year anniversary of FWE upon us, it is with great pleasure that we announce that our NEW Tennessee facility, just north of Nashville, is now UP, RUNNING and FULLY OPERATIONAL! We continue to create and manufacture the kind of durable and dependable Foodservice Equipment you have come to expect for well over a half century.

FWE takes its vast experience and new production processes to our new Portland facility as many of our existing, and highly motivated, workforce have relocated to this much larger facility. This has made for a smooth startup in our production without the severe challenges of training a completely new and unfamiliar workforce. It also provides better mentoring for new staff as we continue to hire and grow. Ensuring that we maintain the same quality, delivery and accommodation to specific customer needs as it has always done in the past.

The new facility is approximately 5x larger than its existing facility in Illinois and promises to do much more to foster the development of new lines, and products by speeding up our concept to delivery workflow with larger test labs and more specialists and even better Quality Control.

Somethin’s always cookin’ at FWE and this time they’re literally smokin’ as they introduce a new line of cook and hold ovens with a brand new “smoker” feature.  The company has spent months developing and testing these ovens in R & D and recently announced a product launch date of January 1, 2012.

FWE’s CHSK Series is versatile enough to cook, hold, and smoke anything from pork to salmon to cheese, roasted potatoes or even ice.  The ovens feature a 2-stage smoker.  The “light” stage is a quick 15 minute smoke while the “standard” stage is a longer 1 to 2 hour smoke.  The units offer the longest burn time in the industry without wood chip refill.

FWE’s Airflow Performance allows for convection baking, roasting, braising, and holding with even airflow and without hotspots.  In addition, the CHSK Series ovens produce superb yields, great color, texture & feel for all types of products.  A menu lock-out is also available on the ovens, enabling supervisors or chefs to enter pre-sets into the unit and lock it, insisting operators cook only by using predetermined properties.
